Description
The Marathon Public Library is part of the Monroe County Public Library system and serves the City of Marathon and the Middle Keys. The improvements consisted of a new Library and Adult Education building, including associated parking/drive aisles and landscape areas. The 2-story, mixed-use facility includes dedicated adult education space, shared space, classrooms, shaded outdoor space, climate-controlled archival space and a dedicated climate-controlled IT room. The project met sustainability standards as per the Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC).

As part of the design team, KEITH provided civil engineering and landscape architecture services, including Certified Arborist services. The engineering requirements included site plan preparation, coordination and processing, engineering plans including water and sewer, on-site paving, grading and drainage, signing and pavement marking, stormwater pollution prevention, bidding assistance, and construction observation. Landscape services included tree inventory and appraisal, creating a tree disposition plan along with landscape and irrigation plans.
