KEITH is providing professional services associated with the Miami-Opa Locka Bombardier Aircraft Service Center, for approximately 31.93 acres of lease property located on the eastern side of Miami-Opa Locka Executive (OPF) airport. It is bounded on the north, west and south sides by existing taxilanes “P” and “B” and the east side by NW 37th Court. The project consists of approximately 5.71 acres of hangar and office area, including a parking lot that will provide 226 parking spaces, and an 11.52-acre apron to support the operation of the proposed facility. The design for this project accounts for an addition 1.34-acre hangar expansion for a total of 7.05-acres of building area. The project originally began at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL); however, the owner later moved the project to OPF.

KEITH is providing survey, planning and civil engineering services including site plan preparation and processing, water, sewer, paving for both airside and landside, Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF) storage, airside pollution prevention system, grading and drainage design to support the proposed facility. As the Engineer of Record for this project, KEITH is responsible for modification of the Airport’s Master Drainage Plan for this basin and permits to include the project’s proposed improvements, and modification of the OPF Watershed 4 ICPR model. The properly sized paving and drainage system for this project provides storage of the AFFF after a catastrophic fire event has occurred. As part of Miami-Dade Aviation Division (MDAD) requirements we properly sized the grit chambers, pipes, and oil/water separators for the airside pollution prevention system. Additionally, we are designing the airside apron based on FAA requirements for airplanes weighing more than 100,000lbs with the use of FAARFIELD. KEITH is responsible for the construction phase services for this project, including review of shop drawings, as-builts, testing, and periodic site inspections in accordance with the applicable permit conditions to complete the utilities certification close-out process.
